New trunk roads provide easy access to the Maritim Hotel. The 'Balaclava' Estate is a historical estate dating back to the 18th century, with fascinating natural scenery from Mauritius. On the northern border flows Rivière Citron, over dams and cascades into a shallow lagoon flanked by lush tropical vegetation of Mauritius.
